Discreetly situated in a landmark building, as designated by The Houston Historical Society, The Astorian is an industrial chic, 14,000 square foot private loft space located in the Heights area of Houston. Conceived by Andria design to replicate New York City’s revered Grand Central Station, The Astorian is a throwback to 1920’s glamour and Art Deco design.
The venue offers a contemporary, multi-level facility equipped with 14-foot ceilings, a fully functional gourmet kitchen and bar, and floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views of downtown Houston. Warm touches such as wood paneling and soft lighting are combined with modern elements like stained concrete floors, rusted steel, brushed aluminum, and brass and copper detailing. State-of-the art technology, multi-functional fixtures and ancillary suites allow for flexible configurations to tailor the space to your exact specifications.
UNIQUE DETAILS
THE CLOCK A 12-foot functioning, gold-and-silver plated clock adorns the wall adjacent to the raised lounge area. The clock was created using a multistep chemical antiquing process that traces its history to medieval artisans. The metal design was conceived utilizing the geometry of division and proportion based on patterns and cycles occurring in nature.
THE MOSAIC Assembled from over half a million individually placed “tesseras”, the Mosaic incorporates several ancient Roman tile laying techniques and is encrypted using the square of the circle, the same method used to build the ancient pyramids. The juxtaposed combination of granite, travertine, marble, jade and serpentine creates a sweeping 35-foot long motif across the bar floor.
THE SKYLINE The Astorian offers breath-taking, panoramic views of the Houston Skyline, with its many skyscrapers, illuminating the space, and creating an ambience unique to the venue. For evening events, the glittering lights downtown provide a glamourous and romantic cityscape backdrop.

SOHO SUITE
The Soho Suite is decorated with vintage Victorian-age items updated with a modern twist. Antique Rococo and Late Baroque chandeliers illuminate the space with incomparable elegance. Standout antique pieces include the 150-year-old imported, double-angle French doors and four, one-of-a-kind Turkish rugs. All the furnishings, such as the tufted, 8-foot sofas and accompanying side chairs, were provided by Restoration Hardware. The room also includes a 700-square-foot dressing room, as well as a large powder area surrounded by three gold, Louis Phillipe mirrors. The Soho Suite also contains a luxurious private bathroom with a Carrera marble-tiled private shower. Noteworthy items in the lavatory include the British handmade, 1930s Mackintosh Godolphin Lefroy Brooks brass shower system, Gramercy Carrera marble washstand, and vintage silver leaf 1830’s mirror imported from France. The spacious 1,100 square-foot room not only provides a comfortable and luxurious dressing facility for the bride, but also can be configured for an array of events ranging from bridal parties and baby showers to birthday parties and corporate meetings.

LEXINGTON LOUNGE
The English-inspired Lexington Lounge provides guests a sophisticated yet comfortable environment to converse, relax, and get dressed, all while being surrounded by fine furnishings and decor. Highlights include the Lounge’s deep, distressed-leather, Chesterfield sofas and balustrade coffee table that has been handcrafted of solid pine timbers salvaged from turn-of-the-century British buildings. The Lexington Lounge is also equipped with hi-speed Wi-Fi, video games, board games, and cable television. For larger parties, the Lexington lounge can be expanded to include the adjacent Astorian Conference room. The Lounge’s shower and private restroom facilities feature imported Belgian Art Nouveau tiles, Lugarno brass restroom fixtures and Malin + Goetz apothecary products.
